“A building is not a static object but a moving project”

BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL
The Burdell Center for Multi-disciplinary Design has emerged as a top priority of the Georgia Tech Strategic Plan 2035. The idea is both compelling and nebulous. It has strong support from diverse constituencies across campus who recognize the importance of interdisciplinary experiences and the need for spaces where such innovative curricular and pedagogical experimentation could take place.During the coming months the ideas and desires behind the Burdell Center will begin to take shape following the normative sequence of project development: stakeholder workshops, artist’s renderings, programming studies, fundraising brochures, etc. The goal behind this studio is to engage this process, actively participating in imagining the potential futures of this project: what it could be; what it should have; what it could look like; what larger questions it raisers; what specific issues it identifies.
This site serves as an ARCHIVE, COMPOST, RESOURCE, and PLATFORM for the ideas, desires and proposals propelling the Burdell Center forward.
